Flappie & Toeter
By the name Flappie & Toeter me and my girlfriend and artist Grady van den Bosch, form an artist duo. We develop projects like interventions, comments and visuals with a light satire as a reaction to life and society.
On this page there will be a selection of projects.
The names Flappie and Toeter are the nicknames we have for each other.
The logo on the left is a design by myself.

COLLABORATION
THE REFLECTION DOT
This is a project for the near future. We plan to make interventions in the public space, where we invite people on the street, or for example in shelter homes, to stand on a large, mobile dot on the floor. And then we ask them to reflect on situations in life, in silence. We plan to not only have the physical encounters but also make online content with it.
This is the design of the Reflection Dot, in Dutch: Bezinningsstip. The design will be printed on an 1 m large dot, from flexible material, that can be placed in diverse locations.
The birth of the Reflection Dot
The idea was already growing for a few years, but in the summer of 2024 we started with a special moment in Paris. We were having lunch and we noticed that the white, round cover of the round bistro table did have the same shape as we imagined for the Reflection Dot. And so I drew the first design of the dot on this table cover. And with that, the Reflection Dot was born.
We will develop I life size dot with a diameter of about 1 meter.
VISUALS
As a duo we develop al kinds of visuals, as a reaction to things we notice in life and society. We turn it around and show a different kind of vision on the subject.
In visual mid under we play with the name of our prime-minister Schoof. We conjugate his name as if it was a verb: slid slide slid
Picture under says: do you also have body?
Picture left upper says: the tree of assylum
Picture left under says: bi ba beasty weather
NANO Stories
We write very short stories of about 20 words, about ordinary daily situations that we encounter. Situations where there is some kind of poetry. The stories are in Dutch and are called: In the passing by.
POINT OF VIEW – BLIKPUNT
This is a project concerning photography. We place the shape of an even legged cross in some kind of surroundings and make pictures. It is a play with focus and context. A mild confrontation with your own attention and emotions.
We use two versions: one made of fabric and one made of a yellow painted carton.
